Almost nothing. Your social battery level is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults (in the app) or as a URL parameter (on the website). We have no accounts and no cookies. The only thing that leaves your device for us is a small amount of anonymous usage analytics (see Analytics below).
If you're signed in to iCloud, your battery level, settings, and check-in history are also stored in your iCloud account so they can sync across your Apple devices. We never see this data. It's held by Apple under your Apple ID.
When you share your battery level, it is encoded in the URL or rendered into an image entirely on your device. No server processes your data.
Social Blob includes no advertising and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We use two third-party services: TelemetryDeck for privacy-friendly anonymous analytics (see Analytics below), and RevenueCat to manage Fully Charged subscriptions (see Subscriptions below). Your battery level, settings, and check-in history leave your device only into your own iCloud account (see iCloud sync below).
We use TelemetryDeck to understand basic usage (things like how often the app is opened) so we can improve Social Blob. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-first analytics service built for this purpose.
The data is anonymous. We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any other personal information, and the signals cannot be traced back to you. TelemetryDeck does not use cookies, does not build advertising profiles, and does not track you across other apps or websites. We never see your battery level, settings, or check-in data through analytics. We only see anonymous, aggregate signals such as app opens, along with basic non-identifying details like device type, OS version, and country.
TelemetryDeck states that it is GDPR-compliant and processes data in the EU. You can read more in their privacy policy.
When you're signed in to iCloud, Social Blob uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store to sync your settings and check-in history between your Apple devices. This data stays inside your Apple account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. Social Blob has no server that can read it.
To stop syncing, sign out of iCloud or turn off iCloud Drive for Social Blob in System Settings.
Fully Charged, our optional in-app purchase, is billed by Apple through your App Store account, so we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active and to restore purchases across your devices.
RevenueCat receives anonymous purchase information (such as which product you bought and its receipt) and an anonymous identifier it generates. It does not receive your name, email, battery level, or check-in data. You can read more in RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Apple may collect usage data according to their own privacy policy. We do not access or receive any of that data.
Social Blob does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children under 13. The only data we collect is anonymous usage analytics that cannot identify any individual.
To wipe everything from this device and from iCloud, open Settings → My Data → Delete All Data in the app.
Deleting the app alone only removes the local copy. The iCloud copy will stay until you delete it from another signed-in device, sign out of iCloud, or until Apple expires it. There is no account on our end to close and no server data we hold.
