What is a social battery?
Your social battery works like your phone battery: being around people uses energy, and alone time recharges it. Social Blob turns that feeling into a hand-drawn blob character so you can check in with yourself and share how you're doing.
Is Social Blob free?
Yes. The core experience is free forever. Fully Charged is an optional in-app subscription that unlocks extras like notes, tags, deeper insights, alternate app icons, and watermark-free sharing.
How do check-ins work?
Set your battery level and save a check-in. Over time this builds a private history you can explore as stats and patterns, helping you notice when your energy tends to rise and fall.
How do I share my blob?
Tap Share to send your current level as a link or a shareable image. You can also drop a Social Blob sticker into any iMessage conversation, or add a widget to your Home Screen.
Does my data sync across devices?
If you're signed in to iCloud, your battery level, settings, and check-in history sync across your Apple devices through your own iCloud account. I never see this data. To stop syncing, sign out of iCloud or turn off iCloud Drive for Social Blob.
Do you collect my data?
No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Your battery level, notes, and check-ins stay on your device and in your own iCloud account. I only receive anonymous, aggregate usage analytics that can't identify you. See the full Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel Fully Charged?
Open the Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions, and cancel there. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, open Settings → My Data → Delete All Data to wipe everything from this device and from iCloud. Deleting the app alone only removes the local copy.
What platforms does it support?
Social Blob is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later, with Home Screen widgets and an iMessage sticker pack.
Is Social Blob a mental health tool?
No. It's a light-hearted way to notice and share your social energy. It's not a medical device, and not a substitute for professional help. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or, in a crisis, your local emergency services.
Who made Social Blob?
Just me. I'm a product designer, and Social Blob is a one-person project: I designed it, drew every blob, and built it. There's a bit more on the About page.
